I believe you might be talking about the cruise control servo which is located under the hood and usually looks a bit like a flying saucer with a couple of vacuum hoses attached to it. The switch is wherever you turned it on

And sometimes it will work for 3 months and then sometimes it will cut in and out every day. So far it has been on for 3 days straight.
